ABOUT THE BUILDING:
Number 155 has been many things over the centuries. Built around 1600, it has served as a merchant house, an inn, a tobacco firm and a guesthouse. At the back, it once had a kolven court, and the building has been adapted time and again over the years. Around 1920, a new shopfront and balcony were added, both now recognised as monumental features of the building. Today, the building has found its latest calling as a wellness-focused space, continuing its long tradition of welcoming people through its doors.
The area puts you right in the middle of Amsterdam's oldest and most storied neighbourhood. The streets around Warmoesstraat are full of places to eat and drink, from quiet spots for a working lunch to livelier options for after hours. The waterfront of the Damrak and the Amstel are on your doorstep, and the city's main museums, markets and shopping streets are all within easy reach on foot.
